Born on the dry plains of the Western Transvaal in 1956 and raised in the Eastern Lowveld of South Africa, Gerhard de Beer grew up influenced by the immense surrounding he found himself in around the Kruger Park region.  He shares his passion in the creatures he creates that we all love so much.

 

Gerhard studied fine art in Pretoria, and trained under Lesley-Ann Hoets, and he is now based in the famous Garden Route region with a studio in Knysna and is the founder of Crazy Clay.

 

He teaches his skill in a weekly workshop and loves sharing his passion that he has learnt over 25 years.
